The Shenandoah was designed by Golden Eagle Log Homes president Jay Parmeter for his personal home. After living in two Golden Ranch IV's prior to designing and building the Shenandoah, this home was almost twice as big. It all started with the Great Room placement. Jay didn't want the Great Room in the middle of the house this time. He wanted to keep the traffic pattern away from the Great Room, yet have it open to the kitchen and dining room. The other thing they wanted was to have the master bedroom in a quiet area. With the Shenandoah design, the kids have their own bathrooms and walk-in closets. There are also two separate loft areas, one for Playstation® and one for reading. The entire second floor has cathedral ceilings and when you walk in the front entry, you can look up to see a 25' high ceiling. The angle stairway adds a nice look to the home when you walk in the front door. Another unique feature is the massive front log gable entry porch. This home also has three two-story bump outs, a screen porch, a four-stall garage, and some very impressive windows flanking both sides of the fireplace. A lot of glass makes this home bright and cheery. Golden Eagle Log Homes has sold many Shenandoah's since Jay built his, but they are always modified to what each customer needs and wants. Jay says "We even sold a modified Shenandoah as a home for abused women". That home ended up with 10 bedrooms and two kitchens by utilizing some the back two garage stalls and basement for the extra rooms. See, Golden Eagle Log Homes can do whatever you need. |
